Mesquite Pass has always been known for their excellent Mexican cuisine, and equally excellent birding. One of the most beloved birds of the area, the elegant trogon, has become not just the mascot of the team but the city itself. While the team has only won one championship, they are always in the running, usually making it deep into the playoffs before often being stopped by the Kingbirds.
