The people of Bayview have been clamoring for a team for years, ever since their beloved Spoonbills moved to Coral Bay. Finally the league awarded an expansion team to the residents of Bayview. The purple and green have blanketed the city ever since. The Gallinules won their first two games against the Spoonbills, not only endearing the new team to its fans, but offering a cathartic moment against the team that left the city high and dry. Making the playoffs in their first season, the future looks bright for the Bayview Gallinules.

Bayview chose the purple gallinule as their mascot. This colorful bird of the rail family is found in the southeastern US, particularly in Florida. Found in marshes, they use their huge feet to walk on top of reeds in the water.
