Scrub-jays Team Shop

The city of Cholla Creek is named for the abundance of cholla cactus in and around the city. The city has wanted a team of their own for years and finally got their wish when the Shearwaters from nearby Kate’s Point announce they were moving the team. Now in Cholla Creek, the team hopes to turn its fortunes around and have adopted the Scrub-jays as their new identity. Anyone who’s spent time in Cholla Creek knows these loud blue birds are the perfect choice for the new team.

The California Scrub-jay is a loud, boisterous bird of the western US. They prefer scrubby habitat and can be found up and down the west coast. Prior to 2016, the California Scrub-jay and the Woodhouse’s Scrub-jay were lumped together as a single species called the Western Scrub-jay.
